Deville Burger - The original

On Sunday we decided to go to the Lachute flea market. What a waste of time, although it is bursting with activity and people on Tuesdays, on this particular Sunday, it was dead. Which is good for us, nothing to buy!

We then stopped at the St-Eustache flea market which was soooo crowded and hot it made it very unpleasant and we ran through the place before heading home.

Since it is still too hot to cook, we decided to hit Deville burger. It's one of those places the whole family can agree on.

Monsieur Patate, Lachine

What an original name for a hotdog stand. Since this is our first entry, we had already decided on focusing on mom and pop hot dog stands.

When you search on the Enterprise Registrar, their are at least ten Monsieur Patate in Quebec. What an original name! Anyways.

This outing was a mid-afternoon snack after an early afternoon trek to the Hudson flea market on a very hot Saturday. We chose to go light and not overeat, so our meal for four was one fry (I had asked for a poutine, but the man at the cash, probably the owner, didn't understand my request) and 6 hotdogs.

The fries were really very good. Nice thick cut fresh fries. Those were not frozen fries. They had a nice colour and stood well under vinegar and ketchup. They had no aftertaste of old oil.

The hotdogs were nice too, but the special surprise was in the slaw. It was homemade slaw. The kind you hardly see anymore. It was vinegary, but not overly so. Once I post the picture it will be easier to describe.
